The Perfect Touch - July 15, 2010

The Perfect Touch event on July 15th, 2010 at the Mansion on Main Street was a smashing success! This special evening was designed to assist those holding an upcoming event at The Mansion in creating an affair to remember. And as grand as the event was, it’s merely a sampling of The Mansion’s ability to customize everything to suit the host’s requests from menu design to table settings.

Each of the Mansion’s guests were welcomed to tour the various food and beverage tasting stations that lined the exquisite Versailles Ballroom. At each unique station guests had the chance to savor a different culinary dish created by Chef Mirko Loeffler, The Mansion’s Executive Chef. Beyond the delectable taste of every dish the presentation of the food was equally phenomenal. You could see, smell and taste The Mansion Culinary Staff’s labor of love in every detail first hand. Furthermore, Mansion staff members were on hand to facilitate any questions one might have as they explored the room.

The stations ranged from the romantic Viva Italia with Pasta, which included two types of pastas cooked-to-order to the new and elegant Tailgate Station featuring hot dogs, crab fries, yards of beer, and more – a perfect gift for a stylish groom. In the center of it all was a striking buffet displaying a number of the Mansion’s renowned main courses including chicken breast stuffed with wild mushroom bread pudding and a prime rib carving station. Meanwhile, in grand Mansion fashion, severs butlered delectable hors d’oeuvres from person to person around the ballroom.

One of the biggest hits of the evening was the Apple Martini Station complete with ice luge sculpture to chill this lip smacking cocktail to perfection. In addition a variety of gorgeous garnishes were available to choose from, giving each guest the ability to customize their drink to match their personal taste and style.

During the evening Purple Reign from BB Productions provided live entertainment center stage. They kept the crowd moving with electrifying covers of big hits such as “At Last” and “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough.”

Tucked amid the flavorful stations were a number of fantastic local vendors. Each preferred partner provided a unique service for a variety of events, some of which were Moffa Photography, Iovino Video Productions LLC, The Main Event, Synergetic Sound and Lighting, as well as the Home Style Candle Company. Stunning table displays created by local florist including Petals and Blooms, Mae and Co. Productions and Heirloom Weddings were also scattered around the room. Each of the floral arrangements was a bold example of some of the most remarkable floral arrangements to make any event more spectacular.

The entire event was a huge success satisfying both attendees and The Mansion on Main Street staff.

We look forward to The Mansion’s next event and hope to see you there!

Cooking with Mirko - Perfect Pasta

April 2010

Cooking with Mirko

If you missed the Pasta Party… you missed a lot!! I had a great time showing you some different ways to use pasta!

I hope you all enjoyed the demonstration on making your own pasta dough and using a pasta machine. I not only say “add you own,” but it’s also important to “keep it simple.” Simple combinations of fresh sauces, vegetables and various types of pasta can create a wonderful Italian dish or soup. There is nothing better than homemade pasta! And how about the fun we had making the fresh chocolate spaetzle with nuts and vanilla sauce! A delight for any occasion we learned to make was the Seafood Bolognese and the Lobster Ravioli in Alfredo sauce. Another take on pasta we explored was the chilled oriental rice noodle salad, which was very refreshing. And as you saw, it takes less than five minutes to make fresh pesto, perfect to serve with countless pasta dishes. We served our fresh pesto with potato gnocchi tossed with oven roasted vegetables, but you don’t have to stop there. Create your own perfect parings. We paired sliced roasted beef tenderloin with cavatelli pasta and then glazed them both with a porcini mushroom sauce. For salmon lovers we had delightful salmon-stuffed cannelloni with asparagus and a shrimp saffron sauce. I hope everyone enjoyed the education about pasta, the chef’s tricks and the overall fun we had!

I had a great time and I hope to see all again next month, when we celebrate the Mexican holiday of “Cinco de Mayo”. As always we will have a great buffet after the class, filled from appetizer to soup, salad, entrees and dessert! So join me on May the 19th at 6:30 PM at “The Mansion” for

“Mexican cooking: a play on color, flavor, tradition and simplicity”

Rick, our house sommelier, will also be back with a wine tasting.
The price for next month’s class will be $35.00.
And believe me it will be worth it.

As I’ve said before, I had a lot of fun and enjoyed teaching you all a little about the magic of pasta, from the flour to the plate. We will have fun the next time around, so please come and share some good times with friends, family and me at the Mansion. All you have to do is call for reservation.

Please call early and reserve seats before we sell out: 856-751-1717

Again, thank you and I hope I will see you all on May 19th!

Your Teacher and Chef,
Mirko
