The Perfect Touch - July 15, 2010

The Perfect Touch event on July 15th, 2010 at the Mansion on Main Street was a smashing success! This special evening was designed to assist those holding an upcoming event at The Mansion in creating an affair to remember. And as grand as the event was, it’s merely a sampling of The Mansion’s ability to customize everything to suit the host’s requests from menu design to table settings.

Each of the Mansion’s guests were welcomed to tour the various food and beverage tasting stations that lined the exquisite Versailles Ballroom. At each unique station guests had the chance to savor a different culinary dish created by Chef Mirko Loeffler, The Mansion’s Executive Chef. Beyond the delectable taste of every dish the presentation of the food was equally phenomenal. You could see, smell and taste The Mansion Culinary Staff’s labor of love in every detail first hand. Furthermore, Mansion staff members were on hand to facilitate any questions one might have as they explored the room.

The stations ranged from the romantic Viva Italia with Pasta, which included two types of pastas cooked-to-order to the new and elegant Tailgate Station featuring hot dogs, crab fries, yards of beer, and more – a perfect gift for a stylish groom. In the center of it all was a striking buffet displaying a number of the Mansion’s renowned main courses including chicken breast stuffed with wild mushroom bread pudding and a prime rib carving station. Meanwhile, in grand Mansion fashion, severs butlered delectable hors d’oeuvres from person to person around the ballroom.

One of the biggest hits of the evening was the Apple Martini Station complete with ice luge sculpture to chill this lip smacking cocktail to perfection. In addition a variety of gorgeous garnishes were available to choose from, giving each guest the ability to customize their drink to match their personal taste and style.

During the evening Purple Reign from BB Productions provided live entertainment center stage. They kept the crowd moving with electrifying covers of big hits such as “At Last” and “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough.”

Tucked amid the flavorful stations were a number of fantastic local vendors. Each preferred partner provided a unique service for a variety of events, some of which were Moffa Photography, Iovino Video Productions LLC, The Main Event, Synergetic Sound and Lighting, as well as the Home Style Candle Company. Stunning table displays created by local florist including Petals and Blooms, Mae and Co. Productions and Heirloom Weddings were also scattered around the room. Each of the floral arrangements was a bold example of some of the most remarkable floral arrangements to make any event more spectacular.

The entire event was a huge success satisfying both attendees and The Mansion on Main Street staff.

We look forward to The Mansion’s next event and hope to see you there!

Cooking with Mirko - Perfect Pasta

April 2010

Cooking with Mirko

If you missed the Pasta Party… you missed a lot!! I had a great time showing you some different ways to use pasta!

I hope you all enjoyed the demonstration on making your own pasta dough and using a pasta machine. I not only say “add you own,” but it’s also important to “keep it simple.” Simple combinations of fresh sauces, vegetables and various types of pasta can create a wonderful Italian dish or soup. There is nothing better than homemade pasta! And how about the fun we had making the fresh chocolate spaetzle with nuts and vanilla sauce! A delight for any occasion we learned to make was the Seafood Bolognese and the Lobster Ravioli in Alfredo sauce. Another take on pasta we explored was the chilled oriental rice noodle salad, which was very refreshing. And as you saw, it takes less than five minutes to make fresh pesto, perfect to serve with countless pasta dishes. We served our fresh pesto with potato gnocchi tossed with oven roasted vegetables, but you don’t have to stop there. Create your own perfect parings. We paired sliced roasted beef tenderloin with cavatelli pasta and then glazed them both with a porcini mushroom sauce. For salmon lovers we had delightful salmon-stuffed cannelloni with asparagus and a shrimp saffron sauce. I hope everyone enjoyed the education about pasta, the chef’s tricks and the overall fun we had!

I had a great time and I hope to see all again next month, when we celebrate the Mexican holiday of “Cinco de Mayo”. As always we will have a great buffet after the class, filled from appetizer to soup, salad, entrees and dessert! So join me on May the 19th at 6:30 PM at “The Mansion” for

“Mexican cooking: a play on color, flavor, tradition and simplicity”

Rick, our house sommelier, will also be back with a wine tasting.
The price for next month’s class will be $35.00.
And believe me it will be worth it.

As I’ve said before, I had a lot of fun and enjoyed teaching you all a little about the magic of pasta, from the flour to the plate. We will have fun the next time around, so please come and share some good times with friends, family and me at the Mansion. All you have to do is call for reservation.

Please call early and reserve seats before we sell out: 856-751-1717

Again, thank you and I hope I will see you all on May 19th!

Cooking with Mirko - August 5, 2009

Thank you for coming out and spending a fun filled evening with me at the Mansion. Even with many of our big fans being on vacation, the class was full once again. Moving the class into a larger room helped to give more space for everyone. I apologize again about the screen and projector problem, but we are working on the right solution for next time.

It was a “fruity” presentation and I hope all of you had fun just as I did. Thanks especially to the gentlemen in front for being a good sport and trying the fresh rhubarb! Time ran out, after 1 ½ hours, but we cut all 10 different melons, and I hope all of you got to taste of some of them. According to the survey, the sun dried fruit bread pudding in the form of sausage was the favorite, as was the tropical fruit Gazpacho. We prepared extra of the peach and apple strudel, however, that (with the fresh blueberry ice cream) went rather quickly.

So as the summer comes to an end, and everyone returns from their vacations, I thought it would be appropriate to have a class on “Home Entertainment” so you can plan your own parties. So please come out and join me for more fun, laughter, good food and great ideas for party entertaining. Rich, our house sommelier, will also be back with wine tasting. The price for next month’s class will be $24.00.

As I said before, I had a lot of fun and enjoyed myself teaching you all a little about fruits and share some tips about them. We will have just as much fun the next time around, so please come and share some good times with me, your friends, and our food at the Mansion. All you have to do is call for reservation, and bring your friends and family. After looking at a lot of surveys, we are planning on holding the next class on September the 16th at 6:30 PM. Please call early and reserve seats before we sell out.

Again, thank you for your feedback and comments on the survey sheet. It helps me to see opportunities and gives me new ideas for upcoming classes.

See you all on the 16th !

Mirko

Cooking Class - June 17, 2009

If your weren’t at the Mansion’s cooking class this past Wednesday, June 17th you missed out on a lot of fun! This particular cooking class was themed around delectable Italian cuisine which drew in quite a crowd of both new and familiar faces. We cheerfully welcomed all of our guests into our new Windsor Ballroom to learn how to make a handful of Italian delights including Sicilian Orange Salad and Tuscan Prawns. Everyone there appeared to deeply enjoy the foods we all created with our fresh summer products, and not to mention the wine! After listening to everyone’s enthusiastic commentary I believe the class favorite was the chicken. However I did take notice that most of the jumbo shrimp was gone too! Our watermelon risotto wasn’t as successful as our other dishes but we had a great time getting our imaginations going. We combined the Sicilian Orange Salad with onion to make a remarkably savory combination. While we learned and sampled together Rick, once again, had the wine flowing for us to pair and enjoy.

It was incredible to see everyone having a great time mingling and making new friends throughout the event. Next class will be on July 15th, which I hope will be delightfully sunny evening. This time around Rick will be bringing an assortment of refreshing beers from around the world and I will be trying not to set the house on fire since we will be learning how to make a gourmet barbeque.

So make your reservations now (856-751-1717) and I will see you there at 6:30 PM on the dot ready and willing to learn the finest ways to grill steak, fish, and vegetables. We’ll even learn some savory summer sauces, so let’s get the summer rolling together!

Thank you again for all your feedback and comments! It is so refreshing and fun for me to see people of all ages participating, asking questions and giving feedback.

Remember to have fun and enjoy cooking. It does not have to be a chore or job at home. It can be your favorite time of the day, when friends and family get together to share their favorite flavors. Remember that it is not the presentation that truly counts; it is the flavor, “your” flavor that makes it your cooking, and puts that smile on others faces.

Cupcakes & Doll Tea Party

The Mansion on Main Street’s, June 6th Cupcakes & Doll Tea Party was truly an enchanting affair to remember! We proudly welcomed parents, their daughters and dolls into our Windsor Ballroom to enjoy a tea party of the grandest proportions that not even The Mad Hatter could have pulled off. Our guests sat down to an elegant table setting at which they delicately dined on tea sandwiches, miniature cupcakes, scones, chocolate dipped fruit and gingerly sipped lemonade or tea. We were delighted to see that many of our party guest were dressed the part in their colorful tea dresses, including the dolls.

After our scrumptious meal the young ladies and their dolls were welcomed to gather around our lively storyteller to hear majestic tales fit for each of our little princesses. Throughout the afternoon the girls giggled, the parents gaggled, and the imaginary tea flowed creating an absolutely delightful event.

Due to the success of our first two Cupcakes & Tea Doll Parties the Mansion will be hosting two more! The next Cupcakes & Tea Doll Party will take place on Saturday, July 11th at 11:30 a.m. Attendees of the event will be welcomed into our ballroom to enjoy our tea time entertainment and culinary delights. The following Cupcakes & Tea Doll Party will be on August 8th.
